Winter School Intensive

In this unit students will further develop their understanding of the impact of psychological trauma on individuals, families and communities and recognise its culturally appropriate expressions.

• Apply your knowledge of current counselling theory and practice to working with people and groups who have, or are experiencing crisis, psychological trauma and posttraumatic stress disorder (PTSD). This will include the neurobiological, psychosocial and as well as socio-spiritual- cultural elements of trauma
• Apply your counselling skills and methods to the specialised assessment and counselling of clients who are experiencing crisis and trauma
• Field opportunities to observe working with people in crisis and trauma will be provided
