Giosela Tjakra

Giosela started her career as an IT professional. Her interest in counselling developed as life’s journey pulled her attention to look inward, to seek for understanding self from within, and to build relationships based on trust, compassion and away from fear-based grounds.

Giosela is competent in counselling through her own healing journey as well as through her professional training in the Master of Counselling with Morling College, graduating in 2020. Today, she continues to build her expertise in counselling through her training with Mindsight Institute on Interpersonal Neurobiology theory and practice framework. She works with a wide range of presenting problems including anger, boundary issues, disempowered self, developmental trauma, anxiety, depression, and separation. Giosela adopts an integrative model to therapy and prefers a non-pathologising approach to problems. In her work, she is informed by a number of theory and practice frameworks that includes interpersonal process in therapy, attachment theory, neurobiology studies, psychodynamic and systemic view.

She currently holds a provisional membership with Christian Counsellors Association of Australia (CCAA). She is bilingual in Bahasa Indonesia and English. She is also able to provide online video counselling.
