Dr Terry Kohler

Terry is a Clinical Psychologist with over 30 years’ experience. He is the Clinical Director of the Ezra Institute, an initiative of the Morling College Counselling faculty to establish a teaching and training clinic. Terry received his Doctorate in Clinical Psychology at the Canterbury Christ Church University in the United Kingdom. Terry is also the Principal Consultant Clinical Psychologist for Advance Psychology which offers psychological and neuropsychological assessment and treatment services to adults, families and children. He is a lead clinician for ASD Intervention, a service specialising in the multidisciplinary treatment of Autism Spectrum Disorders. Terry is registered to provide services for the NDIS, Veteran Affairs, WorkCover. Clinical Psychology rebates are also available for Clients who have been referred by a psychiatrist, a paediatrician or a GP with a MHCP. Terry is a lecturer in the areas of Mental Health, Ethics, Research, and Group Therapy. He also works with students during their Supervised Counselling Practicum for the interpersonal process and clinical observation components.

Shelley Fairgrieve

M. Counselling
Shelley Fairgrieve is an experienced Clinical Counsellor, she has a Masters of Counselling and is a Clinical member of Christian Counsellor’s Association Australia (CCAA). Shelley has a background in administrative work and case management, particularly working with women experiencing homelessness. Creating a safe therapeutic space and safety within the therapeutic relationship is important to Shelley; she works from a person centred, psychodynamic and emotion focused framework. Shelley provides Individual and Couples therapy and is experienced in working with a variety of issues including: anxiety, depression, trauma, grief and loss and relationship issues.

Katherine Gambell

M. Counselling, G. Dip. Counselling, B. App Sc (Physiotherapy)
Katherine has finished her Master of Counselling in 2017 where she worked with Bridges Counselling.  She also worked with Baptist Community Services – Lifecare Counselling whilst completing her Graduate Diploma in Counselling in 2007 as well as working for 2 years as a telephone counsellor with Lifeline Counselling 2011-12.   Katherine has experience working with people through trauma, abuse, grief, domestic violence, mental health issues such as depression and anxiety, relationship difficulties, loneliness and suicidal ideation. Katherine has worked with both couples and individuals as well as clients with intellectual disabilities.  She is passionate about facilitating a safe place where clients can be free to explore their issues, find their potential and discover hope. Recognising the diversity of clients, Katherine uses an integrated approach drawing from interpersonal therapy, person centred therapy, emotionally focused therapy, sensorimotor psychotherapy, attachment theory, systems theory, cognitive behaviour therapy and a strengths based approach to facilitate clients towards growth and healing. Katherine has also had many years of pastoral experience with youth and young adults, facilitating marriage preparation courses and is currently a student member with Christian Counsellors Association Australia (CCAA).

Sachiko has been practicing counselling for 5 years with individuals, couples and families following over 40 years experience in education. Her main areas of interest include individuals, couples, families, children, linguistically diverse communities, pastoral care, stress, anxiety, depression and self-esteem. Sachiko uses a range of modalities including interpersonal counselling, integrative counselling, humanistic approaches and psycho-education. Sachiko offers her counselling services in both English and Japanese.

Kim Kownacki

M. Counselling, G. Dip. Christian Counselling.

Kim is an experienced Counsellor, having a Masters in Counselling and Graduate Diploma in Christian Counselling. She has a busy private practice and is a clinical and pastoral supervisor. She is a lecturer at Morling College, working with students who are undertaking their Supervised Counselling Practicum and Counselling Theory and Practice. Kim is also a Prepare/ Enrich facilitator.
She is integrative in her practice and can draw from a wide variety of modalities. She is committed to providing an empathic and supportive environment in which you can explore the challenges you are facing, developing your own unique path to achieve the changes you desire. Kim has an interest in working with both individuals and couples including assisting with relationship issues, depression and anxiety, abuse/ trauma, grief, and stress. Jessica Joseph

Jessica has been a practising counsellor at The Crossing Counselling and Bridges Counselling. She is committed to providing a safe place for her clients to tell their stories and experience their emotions. Jessica is integrative in her practice and works mainly through an interpersonal, emotionally-focused approach to get to the heart of core issues, upholding self-worth and autonomy in decision-making and working towards change. She is able to integrate faith issues into her clinical practice for Christian clients.
Jessica works with individuals and couples and is particularly interested in areas such as pre-marital counselling, relationship issues, communication, affairs, trauma/abuse, anxiety and depression, grief and loss, self-esteem, and spiritual issues. Having migrated from SE Asia as a young adult, Jessica has an understanding of the challenges and rewards facing migrants and international students. Jessica’s background in biochemistry supplements her holistic and integrative approach to helping people.

Ben Leung

Ben has been providing counselling services to CALD (Culturally and Linguistically Diverse) individuals and couples in English, Mandarin and Cantonese. He has experience in the sexual clinic for sexual dysfunction and LGBTIQ clients with a specific interest in individual and couple counselling for relational and/or sexual issues, pre-marital counselling and gender identity confusion counselling. Additionally, Ben has experience in presenting talks to church events and offers psychoeducation (talk and workshop) services.
Ben has professional membership with CCAA (Christian Counsellors Association of Australia) and ASSERT (Australian Society of Sex Educators, Researchers and Therapists).

Rhondda Long

Rhondda is a registered counsellor who has been working with both individuals and couples since 2009. Rhondda uses a variety of modalities including cognitive and emotionally-focused therapies for a wide range of issues including (but not limited to) abuse, addictions, anger management, anxiety, depression, grief and loss, guilt, shame, stress management, trauma, couple and relationship counselling, relationship dysfunction and work related issues. Rhondda offers compassion, respect, understanding and hope as she works with clients to resolve issues. She is able to integrate faith issues in counselling for Christian clients and is able to sensitively address issues for people from different faith and cultural backgrounds.

Stan Winn

BSc, M. Counselling

Stan currently works both as a private practitioner and for a church agency called The Cottage on Sydney’s Northern Beaches. Stan uses a variety of modalities drawing from his own life experience to meet clients where they are by using an approach that will work for them as he recognises that everyone is unique. Additionally, Stan does pro bono counselling with women in the rehabilitation transition. His main areas of interest include, life transistion and crisis, grief and loss, abuse (sexual, physical and emotional), spiritual concerns and direction, relationship struggles, couple counselling, anxiety, depression and confusion.

Iris Siu Yin Yip

Iris has been a practicing counsellor since 2011 working in telephone counselling, welfare counselling, assistant training and individual and couple therapy. Iris is particularly interested in working with relationship and family issues, affairs, separation, divorce, post-separation parenting, trauma, grief and loss, depression, anxiety, mental health issues, anger management, self-esteem, addiction, life transition, cultural or spiritual issues, migrant issues, stress and parenting. Iris uses a range of modalities including Emotionally Focused Therapy, integrative therapy, couple therapy, interpersonal therapy, person-centred therapy, systemic therapy, solution focused therapy, CBT and Transactional Analysis. Lee is an intern psychologist who works with assessment of children, adolescents and adults as well as counselling for couples and families. Lee is predominately interested in working with domestic violence, mental health issues, addictions, phobias, PTSD and adjustment issues. Lee is registered with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) and is a member of AMHF.
